Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah has just inaugurated the Enugu State Economic Planning Commission on Friday 7th July 2023. The commission is designed to create a platform for the exchange of ideas, knowledge sharing and new partnerships for the development of Enugu’s economy and the good of our nation.
Peter Mbah Himself Chairs The Commission
Peter Mbah have stated that he himself will operate as the chairman of the new economic commission while the Deputy Governor, Chairmen of the 17 local government councils, Commissioners or Representatives of respective Ministries will be members of the commission.
The Commission To Promote Collaboration Between The State And Local Government
In his words, Mbah said, “I’m hopeful that a structured collaboration between the state and local government, will assist us in delivering our ambitious programmes in areas such as rural infrastructure, education, healthcare, electricity, water, and sanitation.”

He explained that the commission is responsible for preparing a plan for the economic development of the state and for monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the state’s economic policy. He also said that the commission is responsible for identifying and attracting investments for the state.
The inauguration of the Enugu State Economic Planning Commission is a milestone in the state’s pursuit of economic development. The Commission is ideally placed to help the state achieve its economic goals.

Weldone for setting up an Economic Planning committee, but my issue is that 90% of this committee is made up politicians. You should should have selected key industrial players (entrepreneurs) who are none career politicians to be part of this committee.
