  • Arrest Ayo Adebanjo and Peter Obi, Arabambi says.
  • Peter Obi is a nominal candidate of the Labour Party, he says.
  • His allegations on the two statesmen found to be untrue

Ayo Arabambi, a self-proclaimed factional National Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party has come out to say that the presidential candidate of the labour party, Peter Obi and the leader of the Afenifere Group, Pa Ayo Adebanjo should be interrogated by the DSS.

In his interview at Arise TV on sunday, he stated that the two statesmen have committed treason.

They should refer to Tinubu As President

He said by not wanting to refer to Tinubu as president, Pa Ayo Adebanjo and Obi have committed treason.

He went on to quote the section 37 of the Nigerian constitution and section 40 of the Nigerian criminal code to back up his claim.

They Are Both Tarnishing The Name Of The Labour Party

He went on to claim that they are using the name of the party to set the country on fire.

In his own words, Arabambi said:  “the two of them they must be very careful because they are using the name of Labor Party to Nigeria to the world to think you know we are planning you know to make Nigeria ungovernable number one”

Adebanjo and Obi are Factional Leader and Nominal candidate of Afenifere and the Labour Party Respectively – Ayo Arabambi

In his claim, he said Pa Adebanjo is only a factional leader of the Afenifere. He also claimed that Obi is only a nominal candidate of the Labour party.

A simple Google search would disprove this. As a report by The Guardian on 4th of November 2022 established that Pa Fasoranti, the former leader of the Afenifere had insisted that he is no more the leader of the group and Ayo Adebanjo is.

Similarly, the INEC recognized candidate of the Labour Party is Peter Obi.

Obi Never Campaigned for the Labour Party

Arabambi claimed Obi campaigned for only himself and not the party.

In his words, he said: “Obi never campaigned for any candidate of Labor Party anywhere, it is all about him. In fact, I not until he was corrected that he started mentioning Datti is all about him.”
He also went on to say: “A woman challenged him about you know his conduct during the governorship election, he said; we have a bunch of candidates that have no character there are no confidence and therefore he is endorsing the PDP government candidate in enugu. He did so in ebonyi in so many other states. So a person like that cannot be seen as a full-fledged member of Labor Party. Because he only came about himself and himself alone.

Verdict:

This is untrue as Obi campaigned for numerous governorship candidates of the Labour Party. Including in Enugu, Abia, Rivers, Delta, etc.
