In his final address, the candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Bola Tinubu has issued a dire warning to the judiciary to dismiss the 25% requirement of FCT or face chaos and anarchy.
This is coming after the hearing has been concluded at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal. The hearing was concluded weeks ago and each party in the case are expected to issue their final address before the judgement of the Tribunal is given.
Remember that the Labour Party and Peter Obi have made it a point of concern in their prayers to the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, that it is stipulated in the constitution that whosoever would be declared the winner must have 25% of lawful votes in the FCT.

Tinubu has now come with a claim that it is not important to have 25% of the votes in FCT as the FCT is considered a state during the elections.
The exact statements of the address written by his legal team is, “Any other interpretation different from this will lead to absurdity, chaos, anarchy and alteration of the very intention of the legislature.”
Meanwhile, Nigerians have been condemning this on Twitter as some see it as heating up the polity. Many have expressed their dissatisfaction over this statement across the country in the last few hours.
Whether the judiciary will succumb to this plight will be known in the coming weeks when the final judgement is given.
