The attack was just one of several carried out by Hamas, a Palestinian militant group designated as a terrorist organization by the United States, European Union, and Israel.
The outdoor Nova Festival event, which was planned to be a 24-hour dance extravaganza in honour of the Jewish holiday of Sukkot, was targeted on Saturday morning. Social media videos and accounts from festival goers showed Hamas terrorists shooting at fleeing attendees and taking others’ hostage.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, at least 413 Palestinians, including 78 children, have been killed and 2,300 others wounded in Gaza since Saturday.

The attack on the music festival has been condemned by the international community, with many countries calling for an end to the violence.
