Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), hosted members of the Anambra Muslim community on Wednesday to celebrate Eid el Kabir.

The event, which took place at Obi’s residence in Onitsha, Anambra State, was attended by religious leaders, community leaders, and members of the Muslim community.

In his remarks, Obi urged Muslims to imbibe the spirit of love, brotherliness, and peaceful co-existence. He also called on them to use the occasion of Eid el Kabir to pray for Nigeria and for its leaders.

Obi also presented cheques worth millions of naira to the leaders of the Onitsha and Awka Muslim communities. The money was in fulfillment of his earlier promise to help renovate their respective mosques.

The event was well-received by the Muslim community, who expressed their appreciation to Obi for his gesture. They also prayed for his success in the upcoming presidential election.

In addition to hosting the Muslim community, Obi also took to social media to wish Muslims a happy Eid el Kabir. In a series of tweets, he urged Muslims to use the occasion to pray for Nigeria and for its leaders. He also called on them to imbibe the spirit of love, patriotism, and unity.

“I urge the Muslim faithful who are celebrating the great feast of Eid-El Kabir to imbibe the spirit of love, brotherliness, and peaceful co-existence. Every faithful patriot must continue to serve God and Country selflessly.” Obi tweeted.
